Itinerary description

Weehawken Creek is Canyoning Colorado’s most technically challenging canyon.

The trip begins with a stunning 1600ft climb along an established trail to the top of the canyon. The views of the Canyon Creek valley are vast, and the wildflower meadows along the ascent are unforgettable.

Once in the canyon, the descent is probably the wettest of all our tours because you’ll be in the flow on almost every rappel! Don’t underestimate the power of the water here; impeccable rappelling technique is an absolutely must.

The end of your tour greets you with a pleasant surprise; a short 5 minute hike back to the parking area. At the end of long and committed canyon, seeing the vehicle that transports you back to reality is a welcoming sight!

Weehawken Creek is a full day canyoning trip with approximately 8 to 10 hours of canyoning from approach, descent, and return. For this reason we require an excellent level of fitness. Please read the prerequisites below to learn what experience is required to join an advanced canyoning trip with Canyoning Colorado. If you have canyoning experience get in touch today and we will recommend a canyon in Ouray that is best suited to your groups skill level.
