Founded in 2011, the International Canyoning Organization for Professionals (ICOpro) has quickly taken the canyoning world by storm, with over 9000 members and Canyoning Centers in Indonesia, France, Greece, Colombia, Madeira, Ecuador, Canada, Portugal, Spain, Reunion Island, Jordan, and Argentina. ICOpro is specifically focused on the development of the professional practice of canyoning in the international market. This goal is achieved by a comprehensive training structure, a rigorous quality control program, a large network of experts and training centers, and a commitment to continual improvement. Canyoneer Initiation (CAI)

All Full Day and Half Day tours at Canyoning Colorado follow a one-day, canyoning course curriculum designed by the International Canyoning Organization for Professionals (ICOpro). This course, called “Canyoneer Initiation” or CAI, is an introduction to canyoning as a sport, and it is taught by a certified ICOpro Instructor and Assistant Instructor.

Canyoneer Level 1-2-3 (CA123)

Canyoneer Level 1-2-3 (CA123) is an 11-day course, 3 days pre-learning/8 days practical, that is designed to teach the trainee to progress independently in a moderate risk canyon during a non-professional tour. This highly intensive course is regarded around the world as being one of the best introductory to canyoning courses, and it is also a pre-requisite to any professional-level courses offered by ICOpro.

Canyoning Assistant

Assistant Instructor (AIN)

The AIN/IVS course is a direct entry course to Assistant Instructor (AIN) for canyoneers who possess a valid training certificate from a training provider other than ICOpro. This 14-day course, 2 days pre-learning / 2 days validation of skills / 10 days AIN curriculum, will ensure the candidate has sufficient skills to integrate into the ICOpro framework as an Assistant Instructor. At the end of this course, the candidate will be able to assist an ICOpro Instructor during Canyoneer Intitation trainings and possess sufficient technical abilities to supervise a group in case of accident or force majeure.

International Validation of Skills / Assistant Instructor (AIN / IN1)

The IN1/IVS course is a direct entry course to the Instructor (IN1) for canyoneers who possess a valid training certificate from a training provider other than ICOpro. This 18-day course, 4 days pre-learning / 4 days validation of skills / 10 days IN1 curriculum, will ensure the candidate has sufficient skills to integrate into the ICOpro framework as an Instructor (IN1). At the end of this course, the candidate will be able to lead as an ICOpro Instructor during Canyoneer Intitation trainings and possess sufficient technical abilities to supervise a group in case of accident or force majeure.

Instructor Level 1 (IN1)

The Canyoning Instructor Level 1 (IN1) training course continues your professional development and career with the International Canyoning Organization for Professionals. This 14 day course, 4 days pre-learning / 10 days practical, is ICOpro’s most pedagogical and psychological course with 80% of the content focused on these topics. The goal of the Instructor Level 1 (IN1) course is to provide the training required to lead groups through a canyon while delivering the Canyoneer Initiation trainings under the ICOpro standard.
